EMDRIA Approved EMDR Training
Certification in EMDR
The certification program is designed to ensure that all candidates receive thorough, high-quality training in EMDR and possess the skills and knowledge necessary to be a successful and effective EMDR practitioner. Becoming an EMDRIA Certified Therapist will provide you with enhanced professional credibility, increased patient referrals, and will ensure that you remain up-to-date with EMDR therapy applications and best practices.
Full EMDRIA Members
Full EMDRIA Members are licensed mental health professionals who have completed an EMDRIA approved EMDR Training course. An EMDRIA approved EMDR Training provides clinicians with (a minimum of) 20 hours of instructional/lecture material, 20 hours of small group supervised practice and 10 hours of consultation.
EMDRIA Certified Therapist
EMDRIA Certified Therapists are licensed mental health professionals who have a minimum of two years of experience in their field. They have completed an EMDRIA approved EMDR Training, conducted a minimum of fifty clinical sessions in which EMDR was utilized, and received twenty hours of consultation in EMDR by an Approved Consultant. In order to maintain their EMDRIA Certification status, these clinicians must maintain their mental health license and complete 12 hours of continuing education in EMDR every two years.
EMDRIA Approved Consultant
Only EMDRIA Certified Therapists are eligible to apply for EMDRIA Approved Consultant status. EMDRIA Approved Consultants have at least three years of experience using EMDR after completing an EMDRIA approved EMDR Training, have conducted at least 300 clinical sessions in which EMDR was used, and have received twenty hours of consultation on the consultation they are providing to clinicians on their use of EMDR by an Approved Consultant. In order to maintain their EMDRIA Approved Consultant status, these clinicians must maintain their mental health license and complete 12 hours of continuing education in EMDR every two years.
