Part 2 takes place August 16-17 and September 13-14, 2014

The EMDR Regional Basic Training (Weekend 1 and 2) is designed for licensed mental health practitioners who treat adults and children in a clinical setting. The training meets the EMDR International Association’s (EMDRIA) requirements and includes lecture, live demonstrations, videotaped demonstrations and supervised practice. This format is designed for clinicians who are interested in learning to integrate EMDR successfully into their clinical practice by developing and applying their skills over a three month period of time. The seminar consists of lecture, live and videotaped demonstrations, case studies, supervised practice and ongoing case consultation. Participants will have ample opportunity to discuss their cases throughout the course and evaluate how EMDR can be applied. Participants will also practice EMDR in small groups with direct observation and feedback from trainers. The course contains the material necessary to complete the basic EMDR training requirements as set forth by the EMDR International Association.

EMDR is a comprehensive psychotherapy that accelerates the treatment of a wide range of pathologies and self-esteem issues related to disturbing events and present life conditions. This interactional, standardized approach has been empirically tested in over 20 randomized controlled studies with trauma patients, and hundreds of published case reports evaluating a considerable range of presenting complaints, including depression, anxiety, phobias, excessive grief, somatic conditions and addictions. EMDR is guided by the Adaptive Information Processing model which addresses the unprocessed memories that appear to set the basis for a wide range of dysfunction. A number of neurophysiological studies have documented the rapid post treatment EMDR effects.
