Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is, perhaps, the most
exciting psychotherapeutic development in the past twenty years.
Research has repeatedly shown its effectiveness in treating Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and led to EMDR being recommended for
treatment of PTSD by agencies in this country and abroad. In addition,
many clinicians have found EMDR to be effective with a variety of other
psychological problems and issues.
second part of the basic EMDR training will begin Thurs. Eve. Nov. 6,
6:00 – 9:00, and continue all day Fri., Nov. 7, and Sat. Nov. 8, from
9:00 - 5:30, with a half day follow-up Fri. morning Dec. 5, from 9:30
am – 12:30 pm. It is designed to refine and expand your EMDR skills.
Material covered will include:
- Basic case conceptualization
- Expanding the use of EMDR beyond trauma treatment
- The Cognitive Interweave and other advanced EMDR procedures
- Using EMDR with more difficult and challenging clients
- An introduction to Resource Development and Installation
- Using EMDR with Children and Other Populations
is an experiential workshop combining lecture, demonstration, and
practice. Participants will spend approximately 35% of their time in
small groups experiencing EMDR as a client and implementing it as a
clinician. I have added an additional half-day for this training to
provide more time for feedback and case discussion. Please note the
EMDR International Association has also added a requirement of 10 hours
of group consultation to complete the basic EMDR training.
