About Me
I have a strong background in education. After working in education for 18 years, I realized my passion for education sprang from facilitating growth, transformation, and well-being in the students I worked with. This passion transformed my career emphasis to counseling. I have a Masters of Education degree in counseling from the University of Alaska, Anchorage. My counseling interests include, adults, trauma, women’s issues, Spirituality, Geriatrics, end of life/hospice care, chaplaincy, and systemic change.
Education & Experience
As a therapist, I enter into the healing journey with my clients. Our work together integrates the use of evidence-based practices with what is most helpful for each individual client. Therapy is not one size fits all, so I work with clients to determine what approach works best for them to achieve their desired goals. My practice incorporates the use of: • Neuroscience and its relationship to trauma • EMDR • Narrative Therapy • Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) • Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) • Faith based Counseling
