About Me

My specialty: Partying People Pleasers I am so glad you’re taking the time to explore what you truly want from a therapist. Choosing a good fit is just about the most important choice in this whole process! So, instead of going on a tangent about my credentials, I’d rather tell you about who I am outside of my office. Outside of session, you’ll catch me obsessing over my frenchbull dog puppy, cleaning up the seemingly endless messes in my apartment, heading to a yoga class or pouring myself my 10th cup of coffee. Let’s be honest, you’ll also catch me procrastinating some task! If you wouldv’e met me during undergrad though, you would have met another version of me. The me who was a scatterbrained, overscheduled, overacheiver, who couldn’t say no to anything or anyone. By the end,I could barely muster up the effort to grab coffee in order to make it out for dancing and drinks downtown. As the chaotically busy years went by, I was running out of energy and isolating from everything. People pleasing snuck its way into every aspect of my life to the point that I could barely recognize what I genuinely wanted. Nothing I did ever felt like enough. After I found my therapist, I steadily worked on getting to the root of this. I wish I knew sooner how much it would transform my life. Seeing my life improve so durastically motivated me to work with other women who were socialized to stay small, be polite, and be a helper. Now that I’ve talked about myself enough, let’s take some time to chat about you. Education & Experience

Using EMDR and the DeTUR method with clients has been exactly what I was missing in my early years as a therapist. I was as confused and upset as my client were when they would return to residential treatment. Instead of feeling defeated, I buckled in and found answers. I worked hard to find an effective and long-lasting approach to addiction and chronic relapse. EMDR and DeTUR was the missing link. I can’t be more grateful for the ability to give these services to clients. After gaining my master's degree and independent chemical dependency license, I am now working to finish my doctoral degree so I can continue to research the intersections of trauma and addiction.
