About Me

I help people who have gone through the same things I’ve gone through – divorce, remarriage, blended family issues & parenting struggles, grief & loss due to death and suicide, and loving & care taking of someone with a severe mental illness and/or chronic illness. Grief is not an illness that we just get over. Each and every person experiences grief in their own unique way. And, if you’re grieving right now, please know it’s okay to not be okay. It’s my role to help my clients sort through their worries, frustration, anger, wishes, and sadness while they walk along their path to hope, courage, and wisdom. Let’s face it, finding a therapist is hard. You’re feeling overwhelmed already and now you’ve got a list of people with letters after their names and little pictures. You look at the picture and wonder if that person is someone you can talk to. I’ve been there & it stinks! You deserve to have someone listen, someone to connect to, someone who understands your struggles. Becoming a clinical social worker was not on my radar as a young woman; I started my working life as an interior designer and then transitioned into a stay at home mom of four for many years. Motherhood was by far the more difficult job!!! Interior design actually has a lot in common with psychotherapy; being able to listen to an individual, couple, or family and extract and interpret their wants and desires from a conversation is a skill that I honed long ago. As my children grew, I grew too. Just like the changing seasons my interests and passions changed and evolved. Being a caregiver sparked an interest to better understand human relationships. Deciding to go back to graduate school “as an older adult” was one of the best decisions of my life. I found that I love learning about ways to help people and then putting that knowledge into practice. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to train at a county psychiatric hospital where I gained invaluable skills working with severely suicidal and mentally ill people and their families. I went on to work at a private psychosocial rehabilitation agency where I both facilitated groups for mentally ill clients as well as provided psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples with a varied range of everyday issues. I hold certificates in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). I believe each client is unique, and therapy is not one size fits all. My most recent training has been in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). This evidence based intervention helps people who have experienced trauma and other distressing life experiences. The goal of EMDR therapy to help you process the memory and the pain that accompanies that memory. This way, true healing can be done. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship to work towards meeting my client’s goals. My approach to developing this relationship is to be genuine and real. I’m happy to talk about absolutely anything in therapy sessions to help clients on their path to improved well-being. Therapy should not feel stuffy or awkward, it should feel relaxed and judgment-free. I am the founder of Seasons Psychotherapy Associates, member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), proud Florida Atlantic University alumnus, dedicated wife and mom of four, and completely controlled by to two spoiled dogs and one cat. In my spare time I like to travel, read, cook, and scuba dive. My favorite days are when I get to spend time with all four of my kids.

Education & Experience

I've owned Seasons Psychotherapy Associates since June, 2020. Prior to that I worked at a community mental health agency with the severe and persistent mentally ill population. I trained at our local county hospital's psychiatric unit.
