About Me

I am an Licensed Professional Counselor- supervisor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and a master addiction counselor. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Texas Woman’s University, a master’s degree in criminal justice from Tarleton State University, and a master’s degree in counseling from Southern Methodist University. I also earned a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision and was a contributing faculty for CACREP accredited Walden University. I have experience and passion for working with adults, couples, and families. I believe that all people have the right to be heard, have the ability to heal, and get to “write their own story.” I also have passion and skills for teaching in counselor education and criminal justice. I have been trained in Gottman Levels 1, 2 & 3, couples and addiction recovery, and working with complex couples. I am a Gottman educator and hold 7 principles marriage seminars. I have an extensive background working with complex couples, trauma (specifically childhood sexual abuse), addiction, PTSD, LGBTQ +, chronic mental illness, families, self-esteem and self discovery. I have also been trained in sex therapy by the Buehler institute and conduct sex therapy. I have been trained in and use Gottman method, am certified in EMDR, am an approved EMDRIA consultant and basic trainer, use trauma-informed methods, motivational interviewing, DBT, solution-focused therapy, CBT, emotion-focused therapy and many more methods!!
