About Me
Welcome. My name is Cristina Del Principe (MSW, RSW, Social Worker/Psychotherapist), owner of the Restorative Trauma Practice. My goal as a social worker/psychotherapist is to provide the experience of wellness to all the adult individuals (18 years and older) I work with. I have 14 years of extensive clinical practice guiding individuals out of past and present traumatic and hurtful life experiences. This is accomplished through building a respectful, collaborative relationship and creatively combining therapy approaches like eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), sensorimotor psychotherapy, music, and other interventions that heal distressing and trauma-related cognitive, emotional, somatic, and behavioural experiences, patterns, and/or parts of self. I would describe my therapeutic stance as thoughtful, genuine, warm, focused, and individualized. I support adults who have endured interpersonal violence like: childhood abuse, neglect, and developmental/relational wounding; human trafficking and gendered-based violence (i.e. sexual violence and intimate partner violence); and other traumatic and painful life experiences. I also support first responders. My work with diverse individuals has given me the opportunity to understand and successfully work with various challenges like: post-traumatic stress reactions (PTSR); complex trauma reactions; experiences of disconnection with self, identity, and environment; anxiety; depression; grief; intrusive memories, feelings, and body reactions; nightmares; intense changes in mood; eating, addictive and/or relational challenges; feelings of shame, guilt, fear, confusion, and anger; and other mental and emotional impacts. I offer 30, 60, or 90-minute appointments. Also, I can schedule individual EMDR intensives. If you are interested in learning more on how I can support you, we can book a free consultation where we can discuss your needs and goals.
