About Me
As a therapist, building a strong therapeutic relationship is important to me so that the client can rest easy knowing that they are entering an unbiased atmosphere built on mutual respect. I believe strongly in meeting my clients where they are and making strides towards goals together through the use of evidence-based approaches. Professionally, my focus has been to work closely with individuals struggling to maintain behaviors specifically tied to disordered eating habits, as well as frequent comorbidities such as trauma, depression, and anxiety. My preferred therapeutic approaches include the use of Enhanced Cognitive Behavior Therapy for eating disorders (CBT-E), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) with elements of Mindfulness and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and trauma.
Education & Experience
I received my Bachelors from Capital University, and my Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University. I am an independently licensed social worker (LISW) in the state of Ohio by the Counselor and Social Work Board (CSWMFT). I completed my clinical field placement and delivered evidence-based treatment to youth and their families, as well as young adults, struggling with housing and food insecurity, mood disorders, and trauma at the Huckleberry House in Columbus, Ohio. While at Huckleberry House, I worked in The Crisis Shelter, Transitional Living Program, Permanent Supportive Housing Program, and the Counseling Center. I have experience in community-based, school-based, and outpatient programs. During my time at Huckleberry House, I was able to witness the importance of taking care of our basic needs as well as the importance of using evidence-based approaches.
