About Me
I am a Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience in behavioral health specializing in trauma, particularly racial, generational and spiritual trauma. I have been described as having a “wam, funny, authentic” personality and approach. I have training in specific trauma resolution modalities including Somatic Experiencing Level 2, EMDR, Yoga and healing Attachment trauma with DNMS. I am a current candidate in the EMDR certification process. I consider myself a progressive Christian who is affirming of LGBTQ persons as I believe that all are made in the image of our Creator. I have been married for 25 years and have two young adult children, one of whom identifies as LGBTQ. I am a strong racial justice advocate, and a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. I used to do Stand Up comedy. I often bring my dog, Charlie, a Certified Therapy Dog, with me to the office. I would describe Charlie as big, fluffy, occasionally humorous, and emotionally supportive .
Education & Experience
I have a variety of training and experiences that I use to partner with teens, adults and couples. I was a school social worker for 12 years specializing in working with trauma and children, ADHD and Autism Spectrum. I am a Certified Gottman Couples Therapist specializing in using this training to assist people resolve relationship conflict. I have the Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Certificate form Postpartum Support International.
