Preferred Name: Janice

About Me

My name is Jiewen (Janice) Huang, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. In addition to English, I also speak Cantonese and Mandarin. Depression and anxiety are some of the most common mental-health-related challenges that create difficult thoughts and feelings, which we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, I am here to assist you in restrengthening/restoring/gaining motivation, perspective, and values in your life. Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. I can help you with gaining skills in coping with these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing. My focus is to provide a neutral safe space, listen to your concerns and customize an individualized treatment plan. My hope is to be there with you on your journey. My goal is to assist you in becoming more aware of your outer and inner challenges and resources, growing from your struggles, healing from your pain, and moving forward to who you want to become and where you want to be in your life.

Education & Experience

I earned my Master in Social Work, concentrating on health and mental health. I have worked in various settings, including Shanti’s Women’s Cancer Program, UCSF Oncology Radiation, home health, hospice and palliative, medical inpatient, and UCSF Psychiatry, field instructor, etc.

In addition to work, I also serve as the Regional Assistant Director for Region B of the California Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, as a committee member in social work, healthcare, and equity-related councils, and as a volunteer for non-profit organizations in grief, end-of-life, and advance care planning fields.
