About Me

Rationally, you know it wasn’t your fault that your dad died, but you still feel like it is. Even though you know that this could have happened to anyone, the memory keeps popping up without warning: You see him the way you found him, cold, on the bathroom floor, and you fall to pieces again, blaming yourself for not doing more to prevent this. Or maybe you still can’t will yourself back into the driver’s seat—because realistically, not every driver on the road will be drunk, but all it takes is one—just one to make you relive the smell of burning tires, the taste of blood on your lip, the screaming sirens, the broken glass all through your hair, the flashing lights blinding you. The police, the ambulance, the hospital—they rush into your head and you know you can’t do it again. So you stay inside, where it’s safe, but you’re frozen in fear. For both of these situations and many others, EMDR can help. Many of my clients have gone from having intrusive memories, having flashbacks, feeling unwarranted guilt, feeling on guard all the time, and having other uncomfortable trauma responses. Using EMDR, we work together to engage the nervous system’s natural healing mechanisms to calm those responses. We want to take that photo in your mind of the traumatic event and change its oversaturated filter to something much less intense, something that no longer intrudes on your life. You deserve to get your life back.

Education & Experience

I earned my master’s degree in counseling psychology from Saint Martin’s University in 2015 and began working as a therapist in 2016. My training focused on dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) for adults. I have completed ongoing trainings on a variety of topics, including geek therapy, grief, and trauma, and in 2020 I became certified in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. If you reach out to me and do not see a response from me within one week of submitting the form, please check your spam folder. I am currently licensed to see clients located in WA and ID.
