Kathryn M Trujillo, MS, LMFT, EMDR Trained Professional
About Me
Hi, I’m Kathryn ‘Kathy’ Trujillo. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists, License #203441. I am also an EMDR Trained Professional. Before I started working as a therapist, I worked for many years in the social services field working with diverse populations from many walks of life and with diverse mental health issues. Specifically, my goal is to ignite the fire within yourself to make the changes that feel you need in your life. I believe that people will make changes in their lives when they are ready. I became a Marriage and Family Therapist because I believe that we are shaped and molded as people through our experiences and history. My approach to therapy utilizes a family systems and experiential approach. We all have experiences related and linked to our pasts, our upbringing, hurts, losses, joys, and successes and this has all created a way that we all function in life and relationships. I believe in the family system and what affects one person affects the entire system. The experiential aspect of my therapeutic approach uses expressive tools and activities to evoke change in the characteristics of your current and future relationships, and to live up to your full potential. I also utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.
