About Me
I believe that people inherently want to move towards healing, but life is complex and things get mixed up along the way. I work to help clients move towards their most authentic & genuine selves. Within the counseling relationship, I strive to help clients feel supported & empowered so they can explore themselves, their current circumstances, past experiences, & future aspirations. I believe that people are the experts of their own lives but sometimes need a roadmap to help get back to where they want to be. One of the most powerful gifts that you can offer the world is to heal yourself & I would love to be a part of your journey. I integrate nature therapy (including walk & talk therapy) into my work with clients & am an EMDR trained therapist. My counseling experience includes working with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship stressors, life adjustments, self-esteem, addiction & more. I work with children, teens & adults to help them live more balanced and meaningful lives. If you are looking for an individualized & unique approach to therapy, please reach out. I work collaboratively with clients to create & implement a treatment plan and goals that resonate with the client. I am a registered yoga teacher (ERYT-500) & utilize yoga breath work and poses as well as sound healing practices into my work.
Education & Experience
I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Texas, where I received extensive training for counseling teens, adults, families, and groups. I have multiple years of experience working with clients in a variety of settings. I am licensed in the state of Texas and have training working with children (age 10 and up), teens, adults, families, and groups. I am EMDR trained as well as certified in nature based therapy. I am also an E-RYT 500 (Experience Registered Yoga Teacher). I completed my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in 2015 and my 500hr Yoga Teacher Training in 2018. I utilize yoga breathwork, poses and philosophy into my work with clients across the lifespan. I also hold a certification in Sound Healing where I use crystal bowls and other sound instruments to help activate the body’s natural healing systems.
Professional & Volunteer Affiliations
I have worked in a variety of clinical setting with people across the lifespan (10+). I have worked with people from a variety of cultural and racial backgrounds. While finishing my degree, I completed my internship at Jewish Family Service in Dallas. I primarily met with clients at a satellite location called Jubilee Park where I worked with Latiné teens and their families. I made the jump to private practice a few years later so that I could expand how I work with clients.
