About Me

In 2021, I gave EMDR a try as a client after being skeptical and judgmental of the modality for over a decade. I was first a consumer of therapy and benefited greatly from the profound power of being seen, heard and supported. I have always been a believer as it was a core part of saving my life. Being apart of clients healing journey is a privilege and requires the therapist to do their own work. Outside of being a therapist for 20+ years, I am a mom of 2 stupendous teenage boys and 2 frisky canines), a partner (wife) of 20+ years, a student of Zen, a lover of nature and deep conversations.

Education & Experience

BA - San Diego State University (Sociology) MA - Alliant International University (Marriage and Family Therapy) Licensed in 2001 I have worked in a variety of settings. For 2 years, I was the lead therapist at an adult eating disorder outpatient clinic. I worked in residential adolescent centers for 2 years and then 5 years as a school based therapist with children, ages 11-19. In 2012, I co-created a theoretical orientation called Compassion Based Awareness Therapy that integrates Eastern principles into the therapeutic process. Also in 2012, I started a non-profit agency that provides clinical training to Master's level therapists and offers sliding scale counseling services to the community. I have maintained a practice providing psychotherapy since 2005 and in 2021 added EMDR to my clinical training.
