(she/they)
Preferred Name: Mao
About Me
I help individuals unhook from harmful life patterns caused by systems & discover radical self-care, collectivist care & liberation through somatic and ancestral practices and traditions. I provide liberation-oriented mental health care as a millennial therapist, a first generation American, and child of Cambodian immigrants and refugees. As an inclusive therapist striving to decolonize mental health care and healing, I incorporate an ethical framework of psychotherapy, spiritual and healing of the mind, community, body, and spirit. I am independently licensed to practice therapy in Massachusetts, Colorado, Guam, and Hawaii.
Education & Experience
I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Boston College after serving seven years in the military. During my social work career, I worked in various settings supporting diverse communities practicing from an anti-oppressive and social justice- oriented approach where I acknowledge how systemic racism and prejudices affect mental and physical health. I am S.A.F.E. EMDR-trained through Personal Transformation Institute. Additionally, I have experience working with individual and intergenerational trauma while holding space for all to heal at their own pace.
