Margie Hiatt, MSW, LCSW
(she/her/hers)
Preferred Name: Margie
About Me
My preferred name is Margie with female pronouns she/her/hers. Desert Rose Therapeutic Services, PLLC was formed to help those needing services, especially during the pandemic and was created in July 2020. Access to an available therapist has become more challenging and this business has come from a need in our community. I am providing therapy services via tele-health with a focus on EMDR. I am available evenings and alternating Saturdays. I have been providing mental health services for 20 years but I also started my career right out of college. I have spent the majority of my career working with Children, Tween, Teens, and young adults and I still have passion working with that age group. I enjoy working with college age and beyond as well so don't worry! I utilize alternative treatments in my sessions as well that meets the clients values, i.e. mindfulness, meditation. yoga, essential oils, acupressure points, healing stones, and the client's specific spiritual or religious beliefs. I NEVER push my beliefs upon my clients.
Education & Experience
I graduated with my Master's in Social Work from Arizona State University in 2008. I became independently licensed with my LCSW in Arizona and hold an active license. I completed my Bachelor's in Psychology in 2002 from New Mexico State University. I completed the EMDR Basic training in June 2020. I am also registered to provide TF-CBT (trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy) with clients under 18 years of age. I have been providing outpatient mental health services on an outpatient basis for 17 years and I have done inpatient treatment at the beginning of my career. I am specifically trained in trauma as well as substance use disorders. LGBTQIA ally and gender affirming care.
