Mary Aragon, LPC, LAC, Board Certified Counselor
About Me
I am always honored when someone feels safe and opens up about their personal experiences, problems, and feelings. Trust and honesty are the keys to creating a space where difficult conversations can lead to desired change and issue resolution. I approach my sessions as a team, addressing challenges together to become free from judgment, criticism, and pain; to allow for change tailored to your personal goals. I would love to support you and be part of your journey towards the pursuit of a more fulfilling life.
Education & Experience
I am Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) based in Colorado since 2014. I have experience supporting individuals presenting with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, addiction, abuse, and adjustment issues through individual therapy and group therapy, both in-office and online. I have worked in a wide range of therapeutic settings including, emergency rooms, Veteran’s Administration, court-ordered treatment, intensive outpatient care, assessments, and private practice. I draw on a variety of evidence-based practices to best serve your needs and goals. Building a therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of a safe space to address issues and concerns. This means, we partner to set clear goals and develop a language we can share to help move you closer to your goals in a measurable and meaningful way. The modalities I use include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-based Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
