Maurianna Swanson, LMHC, MCAP
My name is Maurianna and I am a trauma therapist. I use EMDR therapy to help people recover from their most difficult experiences so that they can recognize their own resilience and can experience life in a more rewarding way. My experience working with trauma survivors includes adolescents and adults, who have experienced a wide variety of traumatic experiences including anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and overcoming negative childhood experiences. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a form of therapy that helps people recover from trauma they have experienced. Trauma can look very different to each of us and when we experience trauma, it can block the way are brain is able to recover from distressing events. EMDR therapy is designed to reactivate this natural healing process through alternating eye movements, sounds, or taps. My clients have experienced amazing results from EMDR and witnessing my clients heal and recover from trauma has increased my own confidence in my ability to help others recover from their pain. Being an EMDR therapist has been the greatest professional experience of my life and I am eager to help others with overcoming distressing experiences. I am currently seeing clients through Telehealth (virtual visits) only, throughout the state of Florida.
