Megan Stoneberg, LCSW
About Me
My approach first, and foremost, is about my relationship with my clients. I believe that my accepting, compassionate, empathetic, and respectful approach helps with my clients feeling comfortable. My approach helps build a foundation for trust, optimism and self-esteem. I specialize in helping individuals with issues related to anxiety, depression, grief and loss, healing hurt and anger, and coping with traumatic events.
Education & Experience
I received my bachelor's degree at the University of Idaho in Child Development/Family Relations. After working for a few years in the Boise area with the Head Start Program as a teacher I decided to further my education by moving to Denver and getting my Master's degree in Social Work. While in the Denver area I gained a lot of experience working with traumatized children and their families. I returned to the Boise area and expanded my knowledge and expertise while working as a victim witness coordinator often working with Domestic Violence Victims; working as a medical social worker at St. Luke's Cancer Center, and working as a trained forensic interviewer with the St. Luke's as well before expanding to my own private practice clinic. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) as well Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Professional & Volunteer Affiliations
I am currently a member of EMDRIA, a professional association for EMDR practitioners and I am a member of NASW, the National Association of Social Work.
