About Me
Hello, I am glad you are reading my profile and hope we can connect! My name is Natasha Roop (she/they), and I am a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive therapist. I am Splatsin First Nations and European and am working to help decolonize the field of counselling. Individuals who seek my counselling services want to take back their power and better understand themselves on a deeper level. I work with individuals unpacking their racial, gender and sexual identity and the effects of structures in our society. With other individuals, we process and work through trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, life changes, and addiction/substance abuse. I work from a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive lens, which is the foundation of my theraputic practice. Every person is different, therefore I always tailor each session based on my client's needs. I take a holistic lens to my counselling practice and it is informed by my education, lived experiences, and wisdom from elders and mentors. By reading my profile, I want to remind you that you are taking such a huge brave step in putting yourself first and taking care of yourself, which is amazing and empowering. I hope to create a safe, non-judgmental environment for you to be your true self.
