About Me
I am a Bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Approved Supervisor in Texas with 10+ years of experience. My therapeutic approach is trauma informed, person centered, culturally humble and affirming. I practice from a humanistic, person in environment approach and through a strength and empowerment-based lens. As a social worker I am passionate about social justice and recognize how systemic issues and oppressive environments impact our ability to thrive. I work full time at the Houston West Vet Center and part time at Shaya Psychotherapy . I was born and raised in Cuba and provide services in English and Spanish.
Education & Experience
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Social Work degree from Florida International University and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice. I also completed a post master’s fellowship focused on Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery. I specialize in working with adults who have lived traumatic experiences that continue to overwhelm them. I am passionate about empowering individuals to find their voice, gain awareness of patterns that keep them stuck, and ultimately make choices that align with their values and goals.
