Renee Perry, LCSW-C
About Me
What makes Renee a good therapist for clients? First, during her early adult years, she struggled with low self-worth. She is fully aware of the feelings associated with negative cognitions such as, “I am not worthy”, “I am not good enough.” Second, maneuvering through life as an African-American woman presents with its own set of challenges. In addition to managing the stressors of daily life, we are often the recipients of stereotypes, systemic racism, health disparities, and other methods that seek to reinforce our underestimation. Third, Renee is an active Christian who is far from perfect and lives by the scripture, “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” (Luke 6:37 NKJV). This is how she is able to understand and accept people’s current emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical state without judgment, as well as interact with people in a manner that respects their experiences and perspectives.
