Dr. Sara Hertzel, PsyD, BCB

About Me

I am a trauma therapist with a background in health psychology. I approach therapy with the understanding that many of our symptoms and struggles are normal human attempts to manage pain, loss, anxiety, and even difficult or overwhelming emotions. My goal is help you find your way through these struggles and reclaim a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling to you. I am particularly passionate about working with individuals who have lost a loved one to suicide. I've also been specifically trained in cancer-related loss, medical trauma, sexual trauma, psychological abuse, and LGBTQ+ trauma.

Education & Experience

I earned my PsyD (Doctor of Psychology) in Clinical Psychology from Widener University in 2022. I have worked in hospital, multidisciplinary, and private practice settings. I currently only offer virtual therapy. Studies have shown that virtual EMDR is an effective evidence-based treatment.
