About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Illinois. I earned by Bachelor's Degree in Forensic Psychology and my Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a focus in addiction studies. I have a passion for education which led me to pursue a doctorate degree in Counseling Education and Supervision which I hope to graduate with in 2022. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and am trained in EMDR therapy. I have experience in community mental health as a Mental Health Counselor. I have also held a position as an Admissions Coordinator at a residential facility where I had extensive experience in clinical assessment with adolescents and adults. I love providing individual therapy with children (age 8 and up) and adults. I specialize in trauma and have studied childhood sexual abuse extensively as the topic of my dissertation. Additionally, I have experience working with children and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, DUI/Probation issues, domestic violence, eating disorders, and those struggling with adjustment to change. My approach to therapy utilizes a humanistic approach. I have the ability to connect with my clients quickly by providing genuine, empathetic, and, at times, humorous approaches to therapy. I believe that therapy does not always have to be serious and I enjoy laughter with my clients. I pride myself on being able to create a warm, genuine, and safe space for my clients to process life's difficulties. I value seeing my clients for whom they are and I love to learn more about their story so we can navigate change together. My goal is to help my clients feel empowered to tackle their struggles and help them find the strength that is inside of them. When I am not at Oswego Wellness, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my Australian Shepherd, Kato, and my husband. I also enjoy being active yet enjoy spending a day on the couch watching movies.
