About Me

I am a queer licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), artist, dancer, animal lover, and generally curious person who loves the woods. I specialize in IFS-informed EMDR, which is a combination of evidenced-based methods for treating trauma, anxiety, depression, and more. I have experience working with people who identify within the neurodiversity umbrella, including ADHD, autism, and sensory sensitivities. It is my intention to provide services that support people of all races, genders, religions, and abilities. I believe that everyone deserves to find safety within themselves, and to discover their authentic way of being in the world. The world needs each and every one of us to access rest and joy, so we can move beyond just surviving and toward thriving. Internal Family Systems (IFS): IFS is a process based on the idea that all of us experience different "parts" of ourselves that can be triggered and/or called into action in various situations in our lives. Think about the times when you've said, "Part of me feels one way, and part of me feels something else." IFS can help us cultivate compassion, patience, curiosity, and even playfulness in the ways that we relate to all our parts. Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR): EMDR uses a technique called bilateral stimulation to help us build resilience, process trauma, and practice new ways of being in the world. Bilateral stimulation can come in many forms: moving your eyes, listening to music or sounds, tapping your body with your hands, and more. During EMDR we pay attention to memories, emotions, body sensations, "parts" (as above in IFS), and thoughts. People who try EMDR often find that they are no longer triggered by present situations, that memories of past trauma are no longer as vivid or painful, and that they feel empowered in new ways.
