About Me
My treatment philosophy is based on YOU. You are a whole person who has been influenced by many different factors throughout your life which have given you both strengths and challenges. At times, challenges can become overwhelming and lead to mental health struggles or negative thinking patterns that can be self-defeating, You are not alone. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, social worker, and addiction counselor, I have over 14 years of experience working in the field of mental health. My experience includes working with depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, bipolar, domestic violence, substance use/addiction, ADHD, autism, psychosis, adjustment disorders, stage of life transitions, hospice, relationship issues, eating disorders, suicidal ideation, and general mental health concerns. I offer an eclectic approach that is tailored to your needs including interventions from: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness, Gestalt, psychodynamic, eye movement desensitization reprogramming (EMDR), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I believe in a healthy, balanced lifestyle that supports mind-body connection. My aim in treatment is to walk with you, as a partner in your care, to help you overcome obstacles, gain resilience, and a deeper understanding of yourself. To heal, the whole person must be understood and supported. You are not a cluster of symptoms to be treated. I take the time to get to know you, understand your challenges, and use medications if necessary. Medications are not the answer but are part of the solution when appropriate. A holistic approach combines various aspects of psychotherapy, skill building, a trusting partnership with your provider, and use of prescription and non-prescription pharmaceuticals as needed. It would be an honor to work collaboratively with you to build a treatment plan that will rejuvenate your life and provide a deep sense of meaning to everything you have experienced. Everyone faces challenges for which they could use help and guidance in order to feel empowered to grow into their highest potential. I offer a 15-minute free consultation so you can determine if you would like to select me as your treatment provider.
