About Me
Tricia McGarrah (she/her) is a person-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed Registered Clinical Counsellor. She works primarily with LGBTQIA2S+ adults (18+) who are working through life and faith transitions. I grew up Evangelical in the United States, and religion was a central part of my identity for the majority of my life. When I fell in love with a woman at age thirty, I began to question who I was and where I fit into the world. I experienced the loss of my church community and the loneliness that came with this. I also had to ask huge questions about what could give me purpose, meaning, and fulfillment. I deconstructed the faith I was raised with and rebuilt a new relationship to people, God, and faith communities. It wasn’t easy, and it isn’t something that is completely over. I had people who supported me throughout this overwhelming process, and it would have been so much harder without them. I am passionate about working with people who are asking questions about who they are, who they want to be, and how they can integrate their past (the good and the bad) into their future.
