About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) specializing in the evidence-based treatment of Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Chronic Pain. Witnessing the transformation of my client's lives using EMDR is one of the greatest joys of my career. I am passionate about using this powerful tool to help foster healing and liberation from the wounds of trauma.

Education & Experience

I obtained my BA in Psychology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and Master in Social Work from the University of Southern California. I received my graduate clinical training at Peace Over Violence, working with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence and at the Los Angeles Department of Mental Health's Edmund D. Edelman Clinic, treating patients with severe and persistent mental illness. I gained my post-graduate training at The People Concern (TPC) in Santa Monica, CA, where I specialized in the treatment of mental health crises, severe and persistent mental illness, trauma, and substance abuse disorders. My post-licensure training and experience continued in the private practice sector at Change Within Reach, David Plotkin & Associates and at the Pain Psychology Center, where I worked under the direct supervision of Alan Gordon, LCSW, the developer of Pain Reprocessing Therapy. I have owned and operated my group private practice, Valerie Sadon, LCSW & Associates Inc for the past seven years.
