About Me

Carolyn (Yao-Szu) Tsou is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). She is licensed to practice in the State of California and the State of New York. Working in the behavioral health field for over 20 years, Carolyn specializes in youth and adolescents, TAY, young adults with adjustment issues, career exploration, Self-identity, and mental health issues, ie, anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, co-occurring, and substance use problems. Carolyn is also specialized in trauma work and dissociation, received training in Internal Family Systems and EMDR. She provides family therapy, parenting consultation, and couples counseling. She speaks fluently in English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese.

Education & Experience

Carolyn was born and raised in Taiwan where she received her bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Fu Jen Catholic University in 1998 and master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the State University of New York, College at Brockport, in 2009. She had been working in a community Mental Health Clinic for 4 years and was licensed as a Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York. She then moved to California in 2012 when she worked with Lincoln Child Center, Oakland, provided direct clinical case management services and after-care to children, youth, and transition age youth (TAY) in the foster care system and probation and their families. She moved back to Taiwan for 2 years working in student counseling centers at Ming Chi University of Technology and Feng Chia University. She then came back to CA in 2017 and started to work in AARS/Healthright 360 as a clinician and promoted to a clinical supervisor supervising staff in both Adult and Youth Mental Health and Substance Use Outpatient and Youth Juvenile programs.
