After completing basic training in EMDR, therapists in Hong Kong have fewer chances to receive further training on using EMDR therapy in working with complex trauma sufferers in local context.   This two-day interactive live webinar will introduce basic concepts on complex trauma, including nature of traumatic memory, issues in complex trauma (e.g. attachment relationship, emotional dysregulation, and symptoms of CPTSD).  Theories of dissociation (e.g. structural dissociation of personality, ego state theory) will be explored.  Besides, it will revise the 8 phases of standard EMDR protocol.  Phased-oriented treatment in complex trauma will be introduced.  Importance of stabilization, preparation and target selection of applying EMDR therapy in complex trauma will be discussed.  Apart from lecturing, case vignettes will be presented to deepen participants’ knowledge. Participants are welcome to raise questions during the presentation and to form groups for discussion.
