Approved for 1.5 EMDRIA Credits
One in 11 children will experience the death of a parent or sibling before age 18, making childhood grief both widespread and often misunderstood. Through Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) and EMDR, children can process emotions symbolically, restore safety, and integrate loss at their own pace. This presentation highlights how blending EMDR’s structured eight-phase approach with play and creative expression fosters resilience and healing in grieving children.
Presenter: Stephanie Heitkemper, Ph.D., LPC
