Online Course
This online course proposes a 4 x 3 matrix outlining key developmental competencies for EMDR therapists and is designed to enhance supervisors and consultants ability to assess the developmental stages of their supervisees and consultees. The EMDR Therapy Developmental Supervision Model draws from two classic supervision models—the Integrative Developmental Model of Supervision (IDM; Stoltenberg & McNeill, 2011) and the Discrimination Model (Bernard, 1997)—as well as a review of existing literature and research on EMDR therapist competencies and supervisor approaches. While supervisory models in EMDR therapy have included process models (Farrell et al., 2013, 2024) and an emerging body of literature applying various supervision models to EMDR supervision (Logie, 2024), the development of a specific, structured developmental model for EMDR therapy supervision is relatively new and continues to evolve.
