About Me

Dr. Parter is a New York State licensed clinical psychologist providing therapy to individuals experiencing a range of psychiatric, medical and psychosocial difficulties. Dr. Parter is passionate about helping each client to explore their experiences and to deepen their understanding of themselves, their relationships, and their world. She strives to create an individualized, integrated treatment plan tailored to meet the needs of each client. She approaches treatment from a non-judgmental and collaborative stance, empowering her clients to move towards their values and to achieve their goals. Dr. Parter strives to view each client as a unique individual and to understand how their various identities intersect to impact their life.

Education & Experience

Dr. Parter earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is a clinical psychologist and program manager at the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System– Manhattan Campus. Dr. Parter has extensive training in mental health and wellness, with specialties in depression and anxiety-related disorders, trauma, relationship issues, living with chronic illness and various life transitions and adjustments. Dr. Parter has been trained in EMDR, EFT for Couples, Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and Third Wave Therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Utilizing these various treatments in which she has trained, she strives to create an individualized, integrated approach tailored to meet the needs of each client.
