About Me
Sarah Elkins is a Licensed Professional Counselor Nationally Certified Counselor and EMDR trained therapist who’s passionate about helping a wide variety of clients reach their goals. Sarah has extensive experience working with adults, adolescents, and children in a wide range of settings such as intensive in-home treatment, community-based care, and crisis response. Sarah works with a myriad of presenting problems and concerns that include but are not limited to anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, work stress, trauma and PTSD, mood disorders, low self-esteem, suicidal ideation, self-harm, and family relationship problems. Sarah has a special interest in working with neurodiverse clients such as those with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and other neurodiverse presentations. She has a special interest and passion for working alongside members of marginalized groups such as women, people of color, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Sarah uses a combination of several evidence-based treatment modalities with her clients that are focused on the whole mind body approach to provide the best possible client-centered care. Some modalities that Sarah uses in her practice include Person-Centered Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
