Brittany Krackow, LPC, NCC, CCTP
Preferred Name: Brittany
About Me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and EMDR-basic trained clinician dedicated to helping individuals heal from trauma, anxiety, and life transitions. My approach is grounded in authenticity, collaboration, and respect for each person’s unique experience. I believe that healing occurs when clients feel safe, supported, and empowered to explore their stories at their own pace. I value the evidence-based approach of EMDR and have witnessed its transformative impact in helping clients move beyond past experiences and toward a place of confidence and balance. As a practice owner, I ensure that all clinicians on my team are EMDR Basic Trained, reflecting our shared commitment to trauma-informed, research-driven care. I believe each individual holds an internal compass, what I call their “true north”, that guides them toward resilience and growth.
Education & Experience
I hold a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lindsey Wilson College and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology from Emory & Henry College. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia, a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of the Cumberlands, where my focus includes supervision, trauma-informed care, and professional identity development. I am EMDR-trained through an EMDRIA-approved program, with plans to pursue certification in the future. My professional experience spans individual, couples, and family counseling with an emphasis on trauma recovery, anxiety, attachment, self-esteem, and stress-related issues. In addition to direct clinical work, I provide supervision and mentorship for Residents in Counseling and an masters level interns.
Professional & Volunteer Affiliations
I am a member of the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), the American Counseling Association (ACA), and the Virginia Counselors Association (VCA). I also serve within the Southwest Virginia Counselors Association (SWVCA), where I have been involved in leadership, event coordination, and advocacy efforts that support the professional growth of counselors across the region. My volunteer and professional service work centers on advancing trauma-informed practices, supporting counselor wellness, and promoting ethical, evidence-based care in our field. I am passionate about giving back to the counseling community through mentorship, supervision, and organizational leadership.
