About Me
I'd like to start by saying I am not your typical therapist. You can expect to hear some swearing, to get direct feedback and responsive conversation. You can also expect to receive some judgement, otherwise why would you be looking for therapy to help improve your life and relationships? Although some of these things may be hard to hear, they will be given with respect and the intention of helping you towards your goals. In the beginning, I do more listening than talking to really get a full understanding of you, what you've been through and what you want to accomplish in therapy. As we continue working together, I will guide you through understanding yourself, why you do what you do and how that has helped you and hurt you in the past. We will work together to process and change the way you see yourself and engage in your relationships. I work best with people that want to be in therapy and come to session prepared with what they want to work on. This doesn't mean you have to know how to fix these things, that's my job. You just have to have a sense of what isn't working and have the desire to make hard changes for the better. I specialize in trauma therapy and work well with people ready to dive in and rewire their brains to unstick themselves. Some of my techniques are informed by a holistic approach so those who are flexible and willing to try new things would also work well with me. And finally, I work best with clients that are willing to give me honest feedback on what isn't working. You are hiring me to help you, I want to do my best by you and can only do that with open communication. If all of this sounds good to you, I would love to connect and see if we are a good fit during a free 15 minute no obligation consultation.
