Anna Aurora, MA Psych, LCPC-c
(she/her/hers)
Preferred Name: Anna
About Me
Anna has been working in the healing arts since 1995. In her counseling practice at Camden Whole Health, Maine, she offers integrative embodied psychotherapy, which draws on her training in Clinical and Health Psychology (MA Psych, 1995, with Jungian Analytical focus), her training as a Family Constellation facilitator and her extensive background in somatic, mindfulness and dance/movement-based therapies. In addition, she is a Certified Professional Coach as well as a trained EMDR therapist. She is currently also training in IFS (Internal Family Systems) and Terry Real’s Relational Life Therapy (RLT) for couples. Clients have described Anna as easy to talk to, warm, genuine, attuned, present, intuitive, insightful and wise, with a real spark of joy and laughter. She is the mother of two young adults, spends a lot of time in nature, loves to hike, paddle, garden, cook, dance, travel, play with friends and create. She is deeply committed to her own inner work and spiritual practice, and to offering this journey to others.
Education & Experience
Her approach is relational and trauma-informed, offering clients a safe and non-judgmental space; she combines a psychodynamic viewpoint, which looks at the root of the issues, with goal setting and skill building in the here and now. This rich background allows Anna to support people moving through challenging life or work transitions & burnout, or healing from childhood trauma and dysfunctional family systems or relationships. She also works with clients struggling with anxiety and depression, coping with family members with mental health or addiction issues, and with couples seeking to improve their communication and connection. Her practice is LGBTQIA+ and alternative relationship friendly. She loves helping women on their journey to full embodiment and empowerment
Professional & Volunteer Affiliations
