Approved for 1.5 EMDRIA Credits
Therapists who work with individuals who have experienced trauma are at risk of experiencing psychological symptoms of vicarious traumatization, countertransference, and burn out. Therapists should engage in self-reflection to maintain awareness of such symptoms. In addition, therapists’ own adaptations and coping mechanisms may impact the therapeutic relationship in helpful and ineffective ways. These processes should be acknowledged and worked through to ensure psychotherapeutic best practices.
Presenters: Angie Heath & Pegah Moghaddam
