Approved for 6 EMDRIA Credits
This advanced EMDR workshop provides a culturally responsive roadmap for addressing racial trauma and moral injury among military and first-responder populations. Drawing from the STARS Framework (Self-awareness, Thought patterns, Authenticity, Radical acceptance, and Success), participants learn phase-specific EMDR applications while maintaining fidelity to the 8-phase model. Through lecture, case study, and experiential dialogue, clinicians explore moral-injury interweaves, ancestral resourcing, and systemic identity repair as culturally informed tools for healing. The course emphasizes therapist self-reflection, ethical considerations, and clinical decision-making when adapting EMDR for racial trauma. Participants leave with practical tools, a Racial Trauma Checklist for case conceptualization, and strategies for advancing equity and cultural humility in trauma therapy.
