Melanie Toth, LPCC-S, LICDC-CS
About Me
I help people heal from painful or overwhelming experiences-things that may have happened in the past but still affect how you feel and react today. In a session, we go at your pace. Some days might involve more curiosity and exploration, other days might include guided exercises, using EMDR reprocessing or helping you connect with and understand different parts of yourself. The goal is to help you feel more present, grounded and free from the past. EMDR is a therapy that helps the brain “reprocess” upsetting memories so they don’t feel so intense or triggering. Parts work includes helping you get to know your parts with curiosity and compassion— not to get rid of them, but to understand them and help them feel safe. Over time, your inner system becomes more balanced and calm. I believe a genuine, non-judgmental approach to building a strong therapeutic relationship is essential to healing. I practice self care and believe having a mentor is an invaluable asset to growth.
