About Me

A Place of Refuge exists to be a safe place for individuals. Some may want help navigating through daily life due to anxiety or depression. Others experience stress and distress from various relationships and life situations. And still others may want to process through pain and trauma. Everyone desires to be seen and heard and my goal is to create an environment where healing can take place and hope can be found. I want to be a safe place for clients by attuning to their emotions, thoughts and behaviors. I'll teach clients skills that will help them regulate their own emotions, communicate effectively and understand why they behave in particular ways. Previously, I was a pastor's wife so I long to be a safe place for others who are in that same roll. I also have personal experience with betrayal trauma and emotional abuse and would like to help other women who are navigating these difficult situations. My heart's desire is to walk with people who are hurting and to provide a place of refuge where they can process the pain while developing self understanding and self compassion, and skills for living.

I received my Masters in Counseling degree from Reformed Theological Seminary in 2023. I have two years of experience working in community mental health in Brandon, MS. My life prior to attending graduate school as a pastor's wife and mother of four children, and my time in community mental health have prepared me well to come along side hurting individuals.
