Holmes’ (2019) Nature journal review “Biological Clues to an Enigmatic Treatment [EMDR] for Traumatic Stress” summarizes Baek et al’s (2019) research. Baek et al.’s Nature journal article “Neural Circuits Underlying a Psychotherapeutic Regimen for Fear Disorders” sheds more light on possible mechanisms of EMDR therapy. “A treatment called eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing alleviates post-traumatic stress disorder through enigmatic mechanisms. A study in mice offers potential clues into the biological basis of this approach.”
