Course Description
Attachment trauma and wounding have a profound impact on the clinical presentation of clients as well as their ability to process trauma targets with EMDR therapy. In this session, we will review the basics of attachment trauma and wounding, discuss clinical presentations of these, as well as discuss how to modify our treatment with these individuals in EMDR Phases 1-8. You will walk away with a deeper knowledge of attachment and its impact on the clinical population, as well as skills and modifications to take these individuals through EMDR Phases 1-8. The emphasis of this presentation will be on clinical presentation and intervention.
Learning Objectives
- Participants will be able to describe the clinical presentation observed with adults who have experienced attachment trauma and wounding.
- Participants will be able to describe the impact of early Attachment Trauma and Wounding on Adaptive Information Processing.
- Participants will be able to identify 3 tools in EMDR Phases 1-8 to assist clients who present with Attachment Trauma and Wounding.

Rachel Harrison, LCPC
Rachel Harrison, LCPC, is a trainer and speaker providing education on trauma treatment, EMDR and Entrepreneurship. She is also the founder of Trauma Specialists of Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania. She is a Certified EMDR Therapist and an Approved Consultant, as well as a trainer, offering EMDRIA-approved EMDR training nationally. She brings 26 years of experience as a therapist and is the owner of The Trauma Specialists Training Institute. Rachel is passionate about treating trauma, specifically using EMDR to heal our communities. She is also curious about innovations in mental wellness, leading her to develop The Mental Health Entrepreneur Podcast.
Jamie Sedgwick, LCPC
Jamie Sedgwick, LCPC, is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and EMDRIA approved EMDR Trainer. She has worked in the mental health field for over 10 years and has been trained in EMDR since 2017. Jamie credits EMDR with changing her practice as a therapist and helping clients heal from a wide range of presenting problems. She has a passion for working with complex trauma and personality disorders. She is an EMDR Consultant and is the training director for Trauma Specialists Training Institute. Jamie has experience in leading EMDR Basic Training and creating and facilitating EMDR Advanced Trainings.
