Dr. Aileen Higgins, M.D.

About Me

I am a psychiatrist, but I don't just prescribe medications! I have been utilizing various psychotherapy modalities for over 20 years. I find it very rewarding to help people work on the root of the problem, rather than symptoms management alone. I have worked with a wide range of individuals and concerns, and I tailor your treatment to you as a unique individual. I provide a safe, compassionate and respectful environment to help foster growth.

Education & Experience

I am board certified in psychiatry. I received my medical degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. I completed my psychiatry residency at Rush University in Chicago, Illinois where I was chief resident. After residency I completed an additional two year training program through the Denver Psychoanalytic Institute in psychodynamic psychotherapy.

Professional & Volunteer Affiliations

I am a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, Psychotherapy Caucus member, a member of the Colorado Psychiatric Association, and the Denver Psychoanalytic Society. I am also a volunteer faculty member at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where I am a Senior Clinical Instructor.
