About Me
Do you feel stuck? Are you having a hard time focusing? Has your past made it difficult for you to stay in the present? As a trauma therapist, I believe in the inherent resilience of every individual. My approach is rooted in the principles of trauma-informed care, emphasizing safety, empowerment, and collaboration. I work with clients to process their experiences, develop healthy coping strategies, and reclaim their lives. I am committed to creating a space where individuals feel safe to explore their vulnerabilities and heal at their own pace. My areas of expertise are in Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Dissociation, Boundaries, Grief and Disenfranchised Grief (loss of a pet), Life Transitions, Relationships, and Communication. I utilize an Eclectic approach to therapy that combines various therapeutic techniques and theories to meet your unique needs. I utilize a combination of EMDR, Parts Work, Somatics, Mindfulness, Yoga Therapy, CBT, and ACT. Utilizing an Eclectic approach allows me allows me to provide you with customized and individualized support. My journey to becoming a therapist includes a combination of education, lived experience, and a winding path. I have always loved animals, nature, social issues, and reading. I knew that I wanted to help heal the planet, so I initially pursued the route to become an Environmental professor. I obtained a BA and MA in Environmental Studies, an MA in Liberal Studies, and a PhD in Environmental Management, where I focused on nature connection. While I did teach for a while, I ended up going back to school for an MSW, after experiencing trauma that necessitated the support of a therapist. After going through trauma therapy of my own, I realized I could use my experience, knowledge and passion for making a difference to become a trauma therapist. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts and have worked as an outpatient trauma therapist for 3 years. I have previously worked with individuals experiencing homelessness in a community setting. Choosing to start therapy is a big step, and can feel intimidating. I am here to help support you on your journey. Together we will discuss your goals, identify challenges, and create a plan. I look forward to meeting you and determining if we are a good fit.
