About Me
Alex Douglas, LCSW is an expert in working with men who appear to have life figured out: they are often high achievers with a seemingly ideal family. Yet under the surface they are struggling. He is skilled in addressing challenges such as anger management, intimacy and sexuality, addictive behaviors, anxiety, career vs identity, and the impact of life transitions on a man’s mental health and sense of masculinity. He has experience using EMDR to treat PTSD, sexual dysfunction, and traumatic incidents, among other challenges. A parent of two children, himself, Alex has specific expertise in working with new fathers. He is gifted in helping men address the challenges of balancing personal identity, family roles, and fatherly responsibilities. Alex empowers men to embrace their roles as fathers with confidence and authenticity, helping them become more connected to themselves and their loved ones. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, Alex spent over two decades as a creative in the Entertainment Industry. He has a deep knowledge of that life’s challenges, including burnout, perfectionism, isolation, and anxiety.
