About Me
As a Counselor I ensure that my clients feel heard and empowered. I follow the approach that you are the expert in your life. You are the driver but I can assist with the navigation, exploring the map to guide you through your options, getting you where you want to be as a person. We will work collaboratively to construct the plan that best suits you and your wellness journey. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, exploring new restaurants, floating on the river in my kayak, and spending time with my husband and son. I am always down for an adventure and hope to encourage others to do the same.
Education & Experience
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor. What does all of that mean? It means I attended specialized training to receive a license to practice counseling in Ohio & Kentucky. I first received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The Ohio State University. While at OSU and post graduation, I volunteered with local non-profits where I mentored youth. These opportunities sparked my drive to continue my journey in the world of mental health and addiction. I decided that becoming a counselor was the right path for me, which led me to my graduate school experience. I received my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wright State University. I spent a few years working with children and families to identify dysfunctional patterns, process trauma, and understand the systemic impact of addiction. I've worked with a diverse client base with a variety of issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, sexual and gender identity, personality disorders, grief and life transition. Currently, my main clinical focus is around processing and treating trauma, supporting clients navigating life transitions, assisting clients in affirming their sexual and gender identity, all while empowering them to find their voice along the way. I utilize a variety of clinical approaches but interweave EMDR, attachment theory, and parts work throughout all my work.
