About Me

My name is Alyssa Brewer and it is an honour to be joining you today from the Syilx territory where I live, work, and play as an allied white settler. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC # 19269) providing EMDR oriented counselling services virtually in British Columbia and in-person in Penticton. I'm passionate about blending the science of healing with sustainable and holistic approaches for body and brain wellness. Together, let's forge a compassionate and curious partnership that empowers you to tap into your own wisdom and strength. Clients often appreciate my humor, authenticity, and unwavering (and contagious!) belief in their innate capacity for healing.

Education & Experience

While I have special interests and education in concerns related to trauma, substance use, chronic pain, stress conditions related to frontline work, my goal is to support you with what is showing up in your life in a way that is safe, evidence-informed, and unique to you. Through an EMDR-oriented approach, we will create a collaborative plan that unlocks your ability to repair unhelpful belief systems, live more fully in the present, and find healing in mind, body, and spirit. I am a basic-trained EMDR therapist and also incorporate a variety of tools from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Somatic Therapy. I am also trained as a Mindfulness-Based Pain Relief Practitioner.
