About Me
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR). I treat mood, anxiety, and adjustment disorders as well as trauma, grief, stress management, and self-esteem issues. Over the years of working in the mental health field, I have developed a specialty in helping people overcome complex trauma. I have used this experience to help those who have experienced abandonment from their parents, whether that included physical and emotional disconnection, and those who believe they grew up too fast because their parents were not able to provide them with a safe and healthy environment that would allow them to live a life as a child. I work with adolescents and adults from diverse backgrounds. My approach is interactive, warm, and nonjudgmental. Although flexible, I tend to utilize a combination of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment-based, Emotionally Focused, Person-centered, Psychodynamic, and Mindfulness-Based therapies. I believe in creating a safe environment for my clients’ to heal and work toward an overall better quality of life.
